Dental emergencies can occur unexpectedly, and our team is ready to help.
If you’re not sure whether your situation is urgent, the following are examples of dental issues that require immediate care. Call our dental clinic so we can schedule an appointment as soon as possible.
For intense pain, trouble breathing, significant swelling, or uncontrolled bleeding, seek care at the nearest emergency hospital right away.

Lost Fillings or Crowns
If you've lost a filling or a crown, try to find any broken or lost pieces. Call our office as soon as possible to arrange an appointment to have it fixed.

Chipped or Broken Teeth
If you’ve chipped or broken a tooth, look for the missing piece and place it in a clean container to bring with you to your visit, as it may be possible to reattach it. Even if you can’t find the fragment, call our office right away to have it repaired.

Knocked-Out Teeth
If a tooth has been knocked out, gently rinse it and handle it by the crown, not the root. If you can, carefully place it back into the socket and bite down gently to hold it in place. If that isn’t possible, keep the tooth moist by placing it in a glass of milk or holding it in your mouth until you reach the clinic.
Apply a cold compress to your cheek where the injury occurred to help reduce pain and swelling.
Visit the clinic as soon as possible and call ahead if you can. The sooner you receive treatment after a tooth is knocked out, the better the chances your dentist can save it.

Swelling, Pain or Discomfort

- Take an over-the-counter pain medication.
- Gently rinse your mouth with warm salt water to clear away any debris.
